December is here!

Hello!  Wow!  I feel like it's been a long time since I blogged!  I hope your Thanksgiving Break was a fabulous one.  I missed your children, and showed my family pictures of all of them and talked about them a lot!  My 4 year old niece wanted to come to school with me!
Okay, on to our week.  It was Cc week, and we learned the 2 sounds that Cc can make- please review them with your child as often as possible.  Things are a little busy here at school, so we didn't get to spend as much time focusing on our letter of the week as we usually do!
For science, Mrs. Kaiser talked with the children about the circulatory system, and the 3 main parts of it : blood, blood vessels and the heart.  She did an example of the circulatory system with them using flowers and colored water.  The stem is the "blood vessels" and the water is the "blood."  It gave the kids a good sense of how our circulatory systems work!  Thanks, Mrs. Kaiser!
The week was spent in Christmas program rehearsals, making 2 candy cane crafts, and making a coffee painted reindeer (which we are still working on).  We have learned a new song, sung to the tune of "Jesus Loves Me":

Merry Christmas everyone,
Do you know God's loving son?
Who was born in Bethlehem,
Shepherds came to worship Him.

Come, let us worship,
Come, let us worship,
Come, let us worship,
Worship Jesus Christ.

Please mark your calendars for Friday, December 16th.  This is the day of our Christmas program!  We are actually performing the program on Thursday and Friday, but the day for our parents (and Mrs. McMillan's parents) to come is Friday.  The doors will open at 11am for the Art Walk in the  lunch room, and the program begins at 11:30am.  If you can't come on Friday, just let me know.  Thanks!  There will be a cookie reception after the program, and you will take your child home after the reception.

Please send in a dozen cookies with your child on Friday, December 16th.  We will use them for the cookie reception!  Thank you for your support.  Enjoy the pictures!
