Going Batty!

It's Bb week- and our list of Bb words is already up to 30!  We are learning to write Bb and also learn the sound Bb makes.  Your children are doing great!  So far we've made very glittery bats and learned a bat song (listed below).  Today we finished up an octopus craft from last week and also had chapel!  We are learning to obey God, our parents and our teachers.  We learned that God asked Abraham to move his people not once but twice!  We got a feel for what this might have been like today during chapel.  Each child was given a (plastic) animal and told to walk around the worship center.  Mrs. Fabila instructed the kids to sit down and pretend like they had just finished moving their family.  Then she had them get up again and keep moving!  Abraham most likely was very confused, but obeyed God because he loved Him.  Oh to have this kind of faith!
Your children are also fond of songs.  Last week we learned a new song called "Tooty Ta."  It's a very silly song that involves following directions.  We put our thumbs up, elbows back, feet apart, knees together, bottoms up, tongues out, shut our eyes and turn around!  This invokes a lot of giggling, which is very fun to observe!  They also like the Chicken Dance!
One sweet moment happened today when one of our friends walked back in from lunch, looked at me and said "Should we pray for Arnav?"  Arnav was out sick today, and the kids missed him!  So we said a prayer for him!  Another proud moment today was when the kids were looking at the bats they had made.  I had just hung them up when one child commented "I wish I could be a bat and hang upside down."  This led us into a review about how bats are nocturnal and sleep during the day.  So we flipped our bats around and now they are "sleeping" upside down!  Enjoy the pictures!

Bat Song (to the tune of Frere Jacques)
Bats are sleeping
Bats are sleeping
Upside down.
Upside down.
Sleeping in the morning sun.
Waiting for the night to come.
Then they'll fly all around.
Then they'll fly all around.
