Nesting!

Hello everyone!  Yesterday began with Wikki Stick work in the morning.  The children could make letters, numbers, or any creation their imaginations could think up!  Then we had science with Mrs. Kaiser- we got to learn about nests!  How exciting!  Mrs. Kaiser had lots of pictures to show us, as well as an authentic example-  birds that made a nest in her backyard!  Then she gave us a special snack- bird nests made from chocolate, pretzels and jellybeans!  They were a hit!  For our craft yesterday we made....you guessed it...a bird nest!

Today brought painting grey squirrels, and then gluing "nuts" (acorns) we found last week on our nature walk into their paws.  We also learned this song (which is on the back of the squirrel):

Grey squirrel, grey squirrel, shake your bushy tail.
Grey squirrel, grey squirrel, shake your busy tail.
Wrinkle up your little nose,
Hold an acorn in your toes.
Grey squirrel, grey squirrel, shake your bushy tail!

Next week we will be in full on Thanksgiving Feast prep!  We will be making headpieces, place mats, and t-shirts.  Thank you to everyone who turned in their $4 for the t-shirt!  We had 100% participation!  Give your brains a kiss!

Enjoy the pictures!
