Our week is off to a super start! We are learning the sound of T as well as making a long list of words that start with T. You will see pictures of the children "playing" with Wikki Stix for morning work, making the letter T as well as other various letters/numbers. Our Bible story is still Creation, and we are learning when God finished each day of creation He looked around and said "It is good!" God is amazing!
Yesterday we stayed inside because of the rain, so we played "Follow the Leader" for some exercise. There is a picture of this below. Yesterday morning we also looked at our science experiment from last week. The apple slice with ascorbic acid (lemon juice) on it did not turn brown, but the red apple skin did seep into the lemon juice! The kids thought that was a hoot!
Today we had Chapel, and we had a special science project that we will keep in our room for the rest of the week. Mrs. Kaiser made a "tornado" out of two 2 liter bottles. I'll post a picture soon! We also read a Thomas the Train book as well as a book about Franklin the turtle. The Franklin book was about his first sleepover. This prompted a conversation about sleepovers the children in our class have gone on, or hosted at their homes. From cousins to mommies and daddies and friends, your children have been on a lot of sleepovers! :)
I thought I'd share our poem for the week before you look at the pictures. It goes like this:
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear turn around.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear touch the ground.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear show your shoe-
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear that will do!
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear go upstairs
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear say your prayers.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear turn out the lights,
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear say goodnight.
** I apologize but for some reason I can't get the blog to upload the pictures. I will try again tonight!***
